Self titled debut EP from Bozkom!
Bozkom is Matt Switzer. Matt Switzer is Bozkom.
Bozkom hails from the desolate and cracked desert of Southern California. An experienced live DJ, Bozkom spent two years developing his skills performing live. Starting simply at local house parties, Bozkom quickly advanced his marquee status by moving on to opening slots at larger and more premier event spaces, such as Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles. This was attained within just under a year, by creating a reputation of consistent positive crowd response and electrifying live sets. Matt's professionalism and exceptional entertainment value was an easy sell for many promoters, growing his reputation behind the scenes as well as in front of the crowds became the key to unlocking better placements on the bill. Now feeling confident in his ability to control a room and bring the party, Matt Switzer went on hiatus from live performance, to conceptualize a new identity and sound, eventually dubbing himself Bozkom.
Going on a journey of self-discovery and artist development, Bozkom has been stealthily strategizing his re-entry into performance and music production for about a year. This naturally led to studying his contemporaries to become a better artist and a hopeful future leader in EDM. That journey led to meeting with seasoned recording engineer, indie/rock producer, and now music production-partner MartinX. Although this collaboration naturally brought another set of influences outside of EDM, it proved invaluable in the creation, as well as completion of this project, by adding analogue approaches to the digital sound design, subtle pop sensibilities to the arrangement, and punk rock aggressiveness to the mix.
Bozkom primarily draws inspiration from moombahton, dubstep, and mid-tempo house styles. Also, it can easily be said that when you hear a Bozkom track, the listener also feels an epic or larger than life energy, like the score in a movie or action packed video game, lending his music to break genre specifics when convenient, and potentially opening his reach to more than just the dance floor. In whatever capacity you experience Bozkom, you will never be disappointed by the pulse heavy nature and danceable rhythms of his tracks.
Now, Bozkom has taken his first major step to action with the release of his new self-titled EP, available exclusively online via
Bandcamp.com, but soon to graduate to larger online distribution veins.
Bozkom prides his influences from such venerable EDM artists as Bassnectar, Feed Me, Pretty Lights, to outside EDM influences such as the Foo Fighters.
